First Appointment

On your first appointment you will be warmly greeted by the receptionist, asked to fill in your details and a few questions regarding your current condition and medical history. The physiotherapist will lead you through to one of four individual and private treatment rooms where you will be asked further detailed questions about your history. With your consent the physiotherapist will then assess you. To assess you effectively you may have to remove some clothing, so wear loose fitting comfortable clothes and it would be useful if you could bring shorts or a strappy top if appropriate.
Your physiotherapist will complete a detailed and thorough assessment of your problem including range of movement, muscle power, neurological testing, muscle spasm and pain along with any possible underlying causes and will give you a working diagnosis for your problem.

At Bothwell Physiotherapy we aim to educate you about your problem and give you a better understanding of what is causing your pain. This empowers you to help yourself.
After your initial assessment your physiotherapist will then construct and discuss an individualised treatment plan for you. He/She will then offer you a variety of treatment techniques to help restore normal function to the relevant area and help alleviate your symptoms.

Following your treatment the physiotherapist will then re-assess your key markers to demonstrate the improvement to you. We will then take you through exercises to help you to improve your condition.

Yes we do neck massage at Bothwell Physiotherapy. We would also use acupuncture or electrotherapy if indicated.

Hi Buchi I wish you well on your search for a job in Scotland. It’s a lovely part of the world (if you don’t mind rain!).
Unfortunately we have no vacancies at present. Best wishes

    Hi Gillian
Just to say I would like to cancel my appointment next Friday. I am pretty much pain free now in my leg and the Cortisone injection in the shoulder has worked extremely well. I would like to thank you for your excellent treatment and will happily recommend you to others and come back if/when I need to.
    Kind regards
    Jennifer

Hi Axel thanks for the request but unfortunately the clinic is not really geared to handle students on work experience and placements. Good luck with your studies.

    Hi,

I have a pain in my shoulder when i move my arms in some directions.

I’ll like to make an appointment after 1830 this week or after 1630 next week so someone could check it out and advise what we can do to fix it or speed up healing.

I don’t know how it happened – possibly returning to keyboard at work or bad angle when sleeping – pain started all of a sudden.

    Thanks,
    Barry

    thanks,
